Leadwork

Lead Work - Chapter House, Westminster Abbey

Stone Technical Services can renew or maintain leadwork on churches.

Our own craftsmen carry out the delicate conservation and restoration of the structures sympathetically and efficiently, using traditional methods.

Recent examples include: -

  • St Martin-on-the-Hill, Scarborough- located on the south cliff in Scarborough, the church is susceptible to weather damage as it is on the coast. Stone Technical Services restored the existing cast iron rainwater protection gutters on the church’s exterior to stop moisture entering the church itself.
  • Chapter House, Westminster Abbey- spire repairs and lead works as well as specialist inspections of the cross detail
  • York Theatre Royal, York- re-fabrication of the decorative cross
